Argentine Tango is an improvised dance originated in Buenos Aires around mid to late 19th century. Not to be mistaken for Ballroom Tango! It is a dance where two people and the music connect and become one; a form of a dialogue, where you build trust with each other to make the partnership work and be enjoyable. They say - anyone who can walk, can learn tango at any age, any time!
In the context of Argentine Tango, there are 3 dances: Tango, Tango-Vals and Milonga. Alongside taking classes, it is also a tradition to attend Practicas and Milongas. Practica is an informal social dance event where all levels of people can come and dance and practice socially. ‘Milonga’, here, is a term which describes a more formal social dance event. During our classes, we take you through the core basics, technique and styling, and set you off on your Tango Journey.
Our classes are friendly and fun! Can't dance, won't dance - all welcome!
